Q1) WHEN IS THE NURSERY OPEN?

For regular nursery hours we open from 08:00am – 04:00pm Monday – Saturday. Tel:  089 055 2493 to arrange a meeting or a tour of the nursery.

Q2) WHEN DOES THE NURSERY YEAR START?

Our nursery year begins in September; however, we do accept children throughout the year. The term dates vary each year

Q3) ARE EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE AFTER NURSERY? 

Yes, we offer extra-curricular activities Monday – Friday after school from 4:30 – 6pm. Please contact the nursery for further information.

Q4) UPON ACCEPTANCE AT (LCELC) NURSERY THE NURSERY WILL REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION

  1. A completed application form (which can be downloaded on our website)
  2. Medical Forms from your personal insurance company
  3. Previous School Report 
  4. A copy of Child/ren’s Passport with Visa Entry Stamps
  5. A copy of Parents’ Passports with Visa Entry Stamps
  6. A copy of Child/ren’s Birth Certificate (with English translation)
  7. 4 Passport photos of child/ren
  8. A secure placement is only confirmed once a deposit, and the nursery fee has been paid. 

Q5) Little Coconuts Early Learning Center (LCELC) Our nursery accepts children from 1-6 years old. 

Students’ progress follows their Development milestones plus EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) learning goals.

  • Early Years: from 1–3-years old Little Bears Class 
  • Early years: from 2-3 years old Little Bears Class
  • Early years: from 3-4 years old Little Ducks Class

OUR PRIMARY NURSERY ACCEPTS CHILDREN FROM 4 TO 6 YEARS OF AGE 

Students’ progress follows the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) learning goals and the British Curriculum.

  • Primary nursery 4-5 years old Little Monkeys Class
  • Primary nursery 5-6 years old (Year 1) Little Fresh Fruit Class

Q6) TERMS AT LCELC

There are three academic terms at LCELC that follow the school calendar of other international British schools. Please see our Calendar for more information.

Term 1 – starts at the beginning of September and finishes towards end of – December. 

Term 2 – starts in early January and finishes in mid-April. 

Term 3 – starts at the beginning of May and finishes at the end of August.

Q7) NURSERY FEES

All fees are paid in Thai Baht. At present we are only accepting these nursery fees. 

One month 7,490 baht

3 months 19,260 baht

6 months 33,170 baht

Nursery fee increase is at the Nursery discretion, but all parents will be informed in advance.

Siblings’ discounts are available for 2nd and subsequent children. The benefits are a 5% discount.

A non-refundable joining fee of 3,000 Baht is payable commonly known as a capital levy in many international nurseries. This fee goes towards nursery facilities. This fee is payable each year.

Q9) OUR ASSESSMENTS AND REPORTS

Assessments take place three times throughout the year. (2022 – 2023)

End of Term 1 Nov 28th – 2nd Assessments start testing & Dec 6th – 9th 

End of Term 2 March 27th – 31st Assessments start testing & April 3rd – 6th 

End of Term 3 July 31st, 3rd and 4th Assessments & Aug 7th – 11th 

These dates will vary from year to year.

ASSESSMENTS FOR EARLY YEARS 

Each child is assessed by their development milestones and the development Matters – (Prime Areas) which is linked to The Developmental Surveillance and Promotion Record. This will be completed at the end of each term

ASSESSMENTS FOR PRIMARY 

Children are informally assessed continuously in every lesson. This assessment helps to inform teachers’ the level at which your children are at and helps teachers to personalize their support in the classroom. At the end of every term, teachers’ assessments in the different areas of the EYFS program as well as English, Numeracy, Science and Thai.

This information is then shared with parents in the form of a score which reflects the extent to which each child has mastered the year’s curriculum.

The children’s assessment books will be forwarded to the next class at LCELC until they reach year 1. Once the children have completed year 1 then LCELC hand these assessment books to the parent after completing the parent / child meeting. These are also forwards to the next school of your choice. Please make sure you inform the nursery of your chosen school in advance, so the Nursery has time to prepare all documents.

Our LCELC students receive a certificate on the completion of their studies in the Primary nursery in Year 1. This graduation certificate is presented to the students.
